Online Recruiting Version 1.0 was about:

  • advertising to the most active candidates
  • massive job boards
  • quantity vs. quality (high volume, low conversion to hire rate)
  • resume spam
  • systems that couldn't keep up with in-flow

Online Recruiting Version 2.0 will be about:

  • Advertising to active and less active candidates via new methods and channels
  • relevance-based targeting
  • quality vs. quantity (lower volume, higher conversion to hire rate)
  • referrals
  • systems that learn, predict, help recruiters recruit smarter
