jobster is thrilled to be announcing our acquisition of gojobby the acclaimed innovator in web 2.0-style online recruiting user interface and tag-based filtering. after watching these guys make rapid progress on their ajaxy tagged-based online recruiting service, we met gojobby's founders brian and tony and well, we just clicked. We are excited to welcome brian and tony to the jobster family.
you can expect to see a lot of their influences worked into the jobster.com site over time. subtle wink.
I’ve been testing out a new (in beta) Ajax Job site called Jobby this evening. Unlike other web 2.0 job sites .... Jobby takes information directly from job seekers, and then focuses on helping recruiters filter through job qualifications fast via tagging and tag filtering. The results are quite stunning and I can easily see other services (not necessarily in the job space) copying some of these features (Ajaxian says its “combines a solid combination of interface and functionality”)....It’s really exceptional.
The site and technology is certainly very much in the Web 2.0 spirit. “Tags” are the in thing these days on the web, and Jobby allows to slap tags on yourself and personalize what tags best describe your skills and situation. If this site/service is able to take off and get wide participation from both job seekers and employers, it could be a very powerful tool for both. Initially, Jobby might find a bigger distribution through individual employers and especially recruiting firms, which would then be able to find ideal matches to fill openings.
ever wondered when the online job searching sites would get out of the “old web” and into a more Web 2.0 kind of attitude? Well, a new site, Jobby, is looking to change that image.
Jobby is a new way to think about resumes that lets you show off your
qualifications and make it easy for hiring mangers to find you. Instead of
digging through job postings and submitting resumes to countless companies and
recruiters, Jobby lets users make their qualifications available in an easily to
search format.Jobby uses a tag cloud-based qualification entry interface, and
AJAX powered search filters based on category, name, level, location, and more.
The search page also lets you subscribe to customized search filters via RSS in
case you don’t find the person you’re looking for right away. The site combines a solid combination of interface and functionality to create an easy to use kind of user experience. As as hiring manager, you can search on a term and get the results. The real fun starts when you apply filters to the data dynamically. Your list is fine tuned down to a few candidates as you narrow the field in different categories like Location, Business, and Availability.
They’re also working up a system that would allow developers to add a “drop in” script to the page, linking directly to their information on Jobby. You can keep track of this and other advancements they’re making on their blog.

To whom it may concern: I have a great resume, am in good condition, apply for jobs all the time and get nothing. I can work in either Round Rock or Austin. I was the Contract Engineer on a comple city, was Program Planner for Admiral Rickover's Atomic Submarine fuel program, And after all that, I have not one person offer me a job anywhere?? I don't understand. This is America, isn't it?
